A new medical study warns of the negative effects of smoking e-cigarettes

The new study was conducted by a team of researchers at Massachusetts Hospital in Boston, USA, where they studied the condition of lung tissue of people who smoked e-cigarettes for a period ranging between 3-8 years, using a microscope to look for the effects of chronic diseases.

The researchers behind this study found that smoking e-cigarettes can lead to blockage of minute respiratory passages, shortness of breath and chest pain.

The researchers said that they observed in some of the study participants, fibrosis and damage to the respiratory tracts, similar to those caused by inhaling chemicals, and they also discovered that some of these researchers had bronchiolitis stenosis, which is caused by fibrosis of the airways.

They also indicated that they discovered in 75% of these patients, signs of mild emphysema, given that they had previously smoked traditional cigarettes, adding that they also noticed a slight improvement in patients who quit smoking electronic cigarettes for a period ranging between 1-4 years.

The reports noted that another study conducted by scientists at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine, revealed the negative effects of smoking e-cigarettes on the human body.

According to the results of this study, smoking e-cigarettes can cause infections in the heart, brain, lungs and colon.
